The Girl Behind the Mirror: The Real Story of How Mira's Was Born

Mira's began with a feeling many women know: wanting to feel beautiful, but finding reasons to hide the parts of yourself you wish you could accept.

There was a time when looking in the mirror felt difficult. Other people's opinions about my appearance stayed with me, and I sometimes felt invisible in rooms where I wanted to belong—and too noticeable in rooms where I didn't. I covered the mirrors in my room because I couldn't bear to face my reflection.

Then, for my birthday, my aunt gave me an elegant black dinner dress and silver heels. Instead of feeling excited, I found reasons not to wear them. It wasn't really my style. The occasion wasn't right. Maybe another time.

Those excuses were about more than a dress. They were the ways I had learned to hold myself back while waiting to feel ready, confident, or somehow different.

That experience helped shape the reason Mira's exists: no woman should have to wait for a perfect body, a special occasion, or somebody else's approval before she allows herself to feel good in what she wears.

What Mira's believes
